Till Lindemann: Messer

Thu Mar 6, 2008, 1:46 PM
I take this man's words to heart

Happiness

Life salvages its happy hour
Lets me fish eyes from sand uncover
So I can stitch them over mine
And watch you through the water shine
And catch the water snakes that crawl
In motley knots in your skull’s bowl

Mist

When the mist the meadow leaves
I cut my skin in sweet release
Two fathoms sink into the pores
My collarbones a white sea’s shores

I scratch my eyes all out to find
No windows now, the house is blind
My skull is open to invite
The freezing snow to fall inside

I stab my chest – amusing pain,
My heart will soak in pouring rain
And in my veins you will discover
A bouquet of red, bloody flowers

I shred like paper every day,
And each will take a bit away;
I put the bits upon your brow
Inside your brain they will be now
Until, diminished and quite small,
I fit into your body whole

And then upon your breast I rise
All open now is the disguise
I have to crawl in through your lips
And trap your tongue in teasing kiss

A mole upon your skin I see
My little island it will be
And nested on a scar I sit
A hair into my grip will fit
When pale is the dress you wear
And you read fairy-tales in tears

Both poems are the works of Till Lindemann
extracted from his book "Messer"
Originals below:

Glück

Das Leben birgt auch gute Stunden
hab Fischaugen am Strand gefunden
werd sie auf meine Augen nähen
kann dich dann unter Wasser sehen
und alle die bunten Wasserschlangen
aus deinem schönen Schädel fangen.

Nebel

Wenn die Nebel aus den Wiesen steigen
werd ich mir die Haut aufschneiden
zwei Faden unterm Schluesselbein

oeffne meine dicken Venen
und schenk dir Straeusse roter Traenen

Ich schneide wie ein Blatt Papier
jeden Tag ein Stueck von mir
leg dir die Teile auf die Stirn
versenke sie in deinem Hirn
bis ich winzig und ganz klein
zieh dann in deinen Koerper ein

Ich werde auf deine Brueste steigen
und mir selbst die Aussicht zeigen
durch die Lippen kriechen muessen
kann ich deine Zunge kuessen

Der Leberfleck auf deinem Bein
soll meine kleine Insel sein
die kleine Narbe wird mein Nest
ich beiß mich an den Haerchen fest
wenn du das blasse Kleid anziehst
und weine wenn du Maerchen liest

i found this and other poems at some page (which I can not longer find!!!)
the poems are awesome and very strong, even a tad disturbing if i may so say
really worth it

but i still need to cough up 120$ for it!

my favorite line of the second one is

""I have to crawl in through your lips
And trap your tongue in teasing kiss"
that's just beautyful
:iconwhiskeysquaw:

:iconsnakeberry:
Isn't he just great? He sure as hell has a way with words
:iconseluna:
fuck yeah! he's such an inspiration to me!
:iconsnakeberry:
Me too man, as cliche as it sounds, he seems so deep
his words *are* inspiring indeed, this poems specifically helped me see a lot of stuff differently.
:iconseluna:
that is a very good point. that we all don't have to see things the same way. and just because some one has 'dark' and 'morbid' thoughts or whatever, doesn't mean they are evil or going to kill you in your sleep LOL i have a friend who doesn't listen to Rammstein cause they are too 'dark' lol
:iconblackledge:
Absolutely beautiful!

Where did you find a copy of his book? The cheapest I could find was $200 and I'm dying to get my hands on one.
